BAS. BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT'S AROUND THE CORNER.
Even the most careful drivers can get taken by surprise. With this in mind, SsangYong developed the Brake Assist System, or BAS to its friends.*
This clever system can actually determine the driver's intention to brake, and apply extra braking force in an emergency. So whatever is around the corner, you won't run into it.
*BAS is available on the Rexton and the Kyron
HDC. TECHNOLOGY THAT LETS YOU DOWN GENTLY.
Because what goes up must come down, SsangYong gives you Hill Descent Control.* Hit a button on the dash and the brakes on each wheel are automatically regulated, giving you complete control on even the steepest slopes. All you have to do is steer, and enjoy the view.
*HDC is available on the Kyron and Rexton II.
ESP. AN ALMOST PSYCHIC SAFETY SYSTEM.
The Electronic Stability Programme*, an unerringly clever way of staying on the straight and narrow. Sensors all around the vehicle relay information to a central computer. When necessary, the computer takes control of the power output and braking to make sure the vehicle goes where it's meant to, and nowhere else.
*ESP is available on the Rexton and the Kyron
TOD. A 4x4 SYSTEM WITH AN APTITUDE FOR POWER SHARING.
Driving off-road can be a demanding business, so the Rexton comes with a clever intelligent four wheel drive system called Torque On Demand.* Sophisticated electronics monitor the performance of each Axle and sends more power to the Axle with the most grip. So in a Rexton, however far off-road you go, you know you’ll always make it back. Unlike many rival 4x4s, the Rexton and the Kyron are built around a substantial ladder chassis. This means they both have a remarkably stiff body shell, vibration and road noise are reduced, and towing capacity and crash resistance are far better than monocoque rivals. So along with outstanding off-road performance, on the road, the ride is as smooth as the styling.
*TOD is available on the Rexton.
